After two years of marriage, Lady Iris is shocked to find Edgar Bernal adores her after she had thought their marriage had gone cold. They had yet to make love, and Iris thought this would go on forever. However, after drinking a poisoned cup of rose hip tea, she suddenly collapsed. Edgar held her as she used the last of her strength to ask him, "If you wanted me dead, why didn't you just quickly divorce me?"
